My partner and I just saw your film at the Portland QDoc Festival. Thank you so much for bringing your film to Portland and America. It really opened our eyes to the struggles of other gay men/women across this world.
My partner and I met almost 19 years ago and we've insulated ourselves the past 10 years in communities that accept and embrace us for who we are...not what we are. But your film has reminded us of those that live in parts of this country that don't have the safety and freedom that we enjoy here in Portland. Previously we lived in San Francisco and Chicago and we never felt threatened because of our love for each other...but we met in Texas and we know when we go back to visit our families we are not welcomed.
We hope that we will all see the day soon when we will be treated as a first class citizens and allowed to have the same rights that our brothers and sisters have as heterosexual married couples.
May your struggles become your strength for each other!
